Sqoop

Apache Sqoop is a tool designed for efficiently transferring bulk data between Apache Hadoop and structured datastores such as relational databases. It successfully graduated from the Apache Incubator in March 2012 and is now a Top-Level Apache project. Sqoop provides a command-line interface for importing data from relational databases into Hadoop's HDFS, Hive, or HBase, and exporting data from Hadoop back to relational databases. The project offers two major versions: Sqoop 1 (latest stable release 1.4.7) and Sqoop 2 (latest cut 1.99.7), though Sqoop 2 is not compatible with Sqoop 1 and is not feature complete for production deployment. Sqoop source code is available on Gitbox and GitHub, and the project uses mailing lists and an IRC channel for community discussion and development. Note: This project has retired and is now part of the Apache Attic.
